Hello - take one!

The first part of this mega newsletter includes a short review of the 1st Alpina-Bikeweekend in Bikepark Bischofsmais. Fun guys from the optics industry got together from the 15th to the 17th of July to practice "seeing ahead"… and, of course, to bike and work on their riding technique.

After a comfy welcome evening on Friday (with thunder and lightning), the wild 13 got up on Saturday morning and headed for the trees to balance - with the advance notion of a huge mess!

For the premier we had to cross the "notorious" balance beam. Stapled together specially for this weekend, it passed the test, even though some fine tuning must be done.

After the first exercises in dexterity and balance we literally rode over sticks and stones… hardcore step variations had to be overcome. There were 3 different possibilities, so everyone could find the path for them.

After so much effort and adrenaline for one person or another, an intense lunch break was in order. NO we we did NOT have dog heads to eat… this is a matured CORDON BLEU!!! One takes half a pig roll it around a block of emmentaler, throw about 11 pounds of marinade over it - and a balanced meal that even would have satisfied the Kelly Family is ready to go!

After our break we mainly rolled and the bike cross/dual trail was taken on. So far so good. We had - except for a small incident- a lot of fun and for most of us it was the first time to ride on a track like that.
After a refreshing dip in the hotel's pool we had dinner and then clubbing (!) in Bischofsmais. The foosball table was decimated, the air-hockey table was glowing and the last people left the dance floor at three thirty. The motto was "last one out closes the door"! And remember this: a half empty shelf of Becks can't just be left like that... ;-) On Sunday morning the events of the day before was refreshed, as well as the first practice jumps over the "bunnyhop" - with some results worth seeing.

Then we rocked the dual and four cross trails again and for the finally we kicked ass on the freeride track. All inall the biking weekend was a successful event that should also be interesting for other companies and their clients. The "MYB Bikezone" and the hotel "Ferienpark" are two gret partners that are now on board. Very soon my website will also explain the entire program in the event area.

Happy Trails
