Finally the time had come: my first triathlon of the year! The Heidesee Triathlon is the highlight of the beginning of the season every year and is also the first triathlon in the year to have an outside swim in Baden-Württemberg. This is why people such as Lothar Leder, Nicole Leder and Timo Bracht were there, even though this is more of a "familial" event with a relatively small number of starters.
The weather seemed to be working out, since the heavy wind kept blowing away the rain clouds. After a .6m/1km swim through a buoy course in 66°F/19°C lake water, we went on to a 6m/10km track, where we had to turn around at the end in order to ride it 3x...

After that came an 5m/8km run with a turning point after 2.5m/4km and then we could finally see the finish line...

And I was finally able to get to the buffet, like I deserved...

Result: I came in 8min earlier than last year and now have the much needed motivation for the coming season!
