Siedelsbrunn July 8, 2006
Siedelsbrunn 8th of July, 2006. The Odenwald and the horror
in the mud! It all started quite harmlessly. Phil drove us to
the pinnacle above Wald Michelbach.
The night before strong rain showers had prepared the trails
accordingly. The result was slippery paths alternating with
bumpy roots and rocks. During the ride I met Ubi ... in pink!
I do declare: This color is a true smash within the scenery
of a forest. In particular those socks dwarf any T-Mobile jersey
to eternal inferiority! Although suffering from a wrong turn,
Ubi came up with a strong performance on the middle distance.
I was impressed. My race went amazingly well. In contrast to
the previous competition I was able to gauge myself much better
and came in with position 13 overall and 5 of the aged and seasoned.
But then, shock, horror: a beast turned the peaceful event into
an unexpected massacre.
I saw grown men lying on the ground, chains torn in the panic
of flight, rabies distorting the faces of innocent bypassers
and deep, bleeding wounds.
I do not dare to imagine what goes on the clubhouse of these
forest dwellers.
For those who know: In the left corner one can see Ubi applying
his linguistic talents on some of the natives.
Until next weekend in Eppstein.
