once again my self-assigned mission sent me abroad... this
time into the promised land of California to check out the
Seaotter Classics, where the totally insane Pirate team and
I will return to in 2006 and leave a trail of destruction
in this holy land.
But first, back to the facts.
As one can see in all the pictures, the weather was really
wearisome......
The continuous and annoying administration of sun tan lotion
and waiting for the AC in the car to blow out some cool air......hahaha.
Really the temperature was just right. Neither too hot nor
too cold.
When I first arrived in San Fransisco I had to fin some room
midst a ton of Chinese so that I could take this lovely souvenir
photo.
Then I went to visit an old buddy, Stephen Maris, for some
biking.
And then off to the Seaotter Classics near Monterey, or to
be exact on the Laguna Seca Racetrack (Stede is already purple
from anticipation, because he'll get to bike here next year
instead of standing at the sidelines at the FIA GT-Races).
The Seaotter Classics signify a huuuge amount of biker freaks,
a giant Expo-area, absolutely professional organization and
a bunch of races, e.g. 3 different street races, 3 differebt
MTB races plus dirtjumping, Biker-X and dual slalom.
From time to time there was some pretty weird stuff to see
too, like these fuzzy biker shorts made out of fleece... the
guy said that they keep you warm in the winter and cool in
the summer... yeah right... at least they have some pretty
chic designs....hahaha.
They had some pretty sweet bikes too, like Santa Cruz' new
"NoMad".
Have I introduced you to my new stretch limo?
Deedeleedee... the entering of the nations... or is that the
Augsburg Marionette Show on a work outing?
Sweet dirt jumps, right?
This plush stand belonged to a girls team.... or somethng.
once again, I couldn't be stopped... they had a tire changing
contest, where the main prize was, in all honesty, a Litespeed
titanium frame... so I improved my recoed to 1:04min, but
it only lasted till the afternoon when some French guy made
it in 1mint....grrrrrrrrrr
Here you can see how Americans make their healthy juice drinks...
there's a mixer attache to the back wheel!
The Santa Cruz boardwalk was our final destination... awesome
rollercoasters and other attractions finished us off before
our departure.
Well, that's all folks.
Whoever is has become interested (and is a Pirate, or would
like to become one), can contact me in order to board the
USA with the other Pirates in 2006.
CU,
Ron
