…huh, where the heck is that…??? ...and it wasn't just in Zons that we got the gold…! Svenja and Jörn of the Pirate Triathlon Team also won in the mixed division of the relay marathon in Pulheim!

The word was attack for Sveny and Jörn with their team 5Spinner Jülich at the 9th relay marathon in Pulheim! There were 230 teams at the starting line and 126 in the mixed division, in which the team participated in the exact same casting as in 2005! At 10.15am we were off to defend our relay victory from 2005! The same team as in 2005 in a different order turned out to be a smart decision! Halfway through the marathon we were leading the mixed division… and we didn't give it away again -> Victoryyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

We improved our own track record of 2005 by almost 3min to 2h35min41sec! By the way that's an average of 3,41min per km - not bad considering the cold and the track!!!!! Overall we came in at a good 13th place out of 230!

Last Sunday (that was already in the middle of February) Sveny and Jörn undertook their next attack at the 17th Zons Relay Marathon! 111 teams with 4 members each were at the starting line! The mixed division would run 6.6.m/10,6km with 2 boys and 2 girls! On our team Sonja and Holgi from Cologne, who we will be flying to bella Italia with to go biking, ran with us!

Captain Jörn was the first runner on the team, just like in Pulheim and came in for the changeover in 2nd place after 3 laps! Then it was Sveny's turn! The head wind, unfortunately, was getting worse and worse!

Nevertheless Sveny finished a great run and the fastest run split out of all the women in the competition!!!!! Next Sonja and Holgi ran their 3 rounds! Both ran good times like Sveny and Captain Jörn! We had 5th place overall for sure and after Holgi came in with a time of 2h44min44sec, we knew that we had won in the mixed division by an 8min margin - yeah!!!! Relay gold for the 2nd time within 5 weeks for Sveny and Captain Klotz…!!!

Enough relays and marathons for Sveny and Captain Klotz for now! If the weather continues to stay this crappy though, we might have to run a little longer....
