124m/200km-Brevet, as a Warm-Up
Off to prepare for Paris-Brest-Paris 2007. Last Saturday at
8:00am, I made my way to the first Brevet, the 200. Hamburg
- Timmendorfer Beach (Baltic Coast) and back to Hamburg "Ponyhof".
Ole and I shoved breakfast down our throats at "Schweinske"
at central station at 7:00am. Then, we jumped right into the
wrong train, which Sir Ole noticed after 2 stops. So, we ran
out and damned all traffic lights just to get our starter tickets
before take-off at 8:00am.
Punctual as ever, about 70 brain-amputees stood at the ready
on the track. Bad head-wind. 4-5 force from the front. I was
actually planning on causing some trouble in the Peleton, but
I changed my mind. There was enough craziness around
Oh well, what is there to report. The sunlight was practically
vomiting, so it turned out to be a pretty nice bike tour. I
had to explain my "no-gear-shift" to a few of the colleagues
as usual… why, how come and wherefore and what's up with that
and bla. SSP isn't known about all around…..oh well.
It's over in any case. Weekend after next it's time for the
300. Then the 400 and the 600 and finally, at some point, the

RAF-Andreas is already looking forward to his Brevets, believe
me, especially the 400 in Hamburg. ;-) If you're interested
