Radiation victims in Gorleben....

The month of May began with a duathlon, where racing is concerned. On May 7th, I made my way to Gatow near Lüchow/Dannenberg, where I took on the distance of a 3m/5km run, a 18m/30km bike ride and another 3m/5km run. Motivated by the neighboring village Gorleben (not a joke), I began to radiate after the first run.
And so it followed that I got onto my bike in second place. I had to let three other men pass and ended up in 5th place out of about 35 starters and 2nd in my age division. My time was 1:35h. I was glowing.

2 weeks later I stood at the starting line of the Mad-East-Challenge with 3 other Pirates.
An MTB stage race that took place over 3 days with a distance of 112m/180km. It was pretty hardcore and I suffered especially on the 59m/95km on Saturday.
Simply awesome!!! I was pleased with being in 39th place overall, out of 52 starters in my age division.

On May 28th, I was registered to participate in the 65m/105km MTB marathon in Altenau. I got up at 5am, drove for 3 hours and was at the starting line at 10am. The 21.7m/35km track was pretty muddy and I was extremely dirty after a few minutes. After only about 1m/1,8km my gear lever on the left side fell apart and the chain wouldn't let itself be put back onto the chain ring. I drove to Altenau for a 1m/1,8km race.
I get into a bad mood just thinking about it.

Fuck it, it'll all go better next time.
