20 years of trispeed triathlons in Harsewinkel in East Westfalia.
"Keep the fire burning", was the motto of over 1000
triathletes. And, of course, we were there. Stupidly enough,
we had decided to register for the short distance this year.
What was different compared to other years? PINK was definitely
the magic word and we were wearing it and we stood out...
this made our fans very happy, since they could now identify
us from a greater distance.
We were still together at the start, but then had to go our
separate ways, because they had divided us into different
starter groups. PINK just looks better that way ;-). So, Andi
got into the Harsewinkel pool first and, unfortunately and
as always, did not emerge from it first. Time for TEMPO...
Get into it, after all there are going to be some chocolate
events...
In the meantime, Daniel started in the second group and enjoyed
a warm 3280ft/1000m, since the water was probably the best
place to be that day. Meanwhile, Andi is pedalling on his
bike. All right, the fans - you have to wave at them, or there
won't be any more pictures…
After the second lap, Daniel came zooming up. The photographer
was already pretty exhausted (he's only five!) and couldn't
hold the camera steady anymore. That's okay. We can still
make out the PINK. Daniel's bike starts making weird noises…
It is a well known fact that after the bike ride, the running
follows. The thing about running is... but we really gave
our best, even though it looks so relaxed.
This doesn't…
This was the season opener for us in the Pirate team colors.
We took "Keep the Fire Burning" literally. It was
a successful preliminary to long stuff, like the IRONMAN Switzerland
in three weeks and the long distance in Kalmar (Sweden). chweden).
Here are the final results for the statisticians:
Team PIRATE short distance Harsewinkel: 3280ft/1000m swim
