once again, the time had come. Last Sunday Ramin Khoschud of the WellnessPower Trek Racing Team and I jetted off to my princess Tanja Wittig of the Maestro Team Wein in the beautiful Rheingau for the 9th Bike Marathon in Kiedrich.
The organizers of the Rheingau MTB marathon Red Puls, www.redpulse.de, had reserved good weather and sunshine, as in past years.

They didn't offer any gimmicks like a pasta party or a stunt show for the unbeatable 11 Euro entry fee, but they did offer a great marathon track of 36m/58km with 4429 vertical ft/1350hm, a lot of single trails, root sections and long downhills.
That's what an MTB marathon should be like!!! The sun was smiling down on us and after the race, so were my princess, who came in 1st overall in the Women's division, and Ramin, who came in 2nd in his age division in the Men's. After 2:52:02h of fun on the track, I finshed 9th in the Master2 division.
However, most of the respect is due to the organizers, who donated one out everyone's 11 Euro entry fee, that's 1000 Euros exactly, to »africa action/ Deutschland e.V«, a private intiative that organizes eye operations in Africa, www.arbc.de spendete. --
