Even though the springtime conditions were optimal, the track
with many vertical feet turned out not to be that easy. Since
I hadn't taken a break to train beforehand, the well-known "hammer"
caught up with me on mile 11/kilometer 17.
Up until then I was riding at a steady 2.5 miles per minute/4
kilometers per minute. I would come to bitterly regret the fact
that I didn't rest up for this race.
My legs were as heavy as lead. Only the honor of being a true
Pirate motivated me on the last 1.8m/3km.
Greetings from Munich,
Daniel
