At the beginning of June, the time had come - the southern
German triathlon folk met up for an olympic competition in
Mußbach near Neustadt on lovely Wein Street in the bright
sunshine.
The start and first changing area were at the Neustadt public
pool. The second changing area and finish line were in Mußbach.
So I quickly set up my spot...
and was off to warm up in my pink battle dress.
Then things got serious. I started with 6 other girls.
After counting tiles for 30 laps, it was time to pedal and
after 6.2m/10km, the street started to slant. We rode up the
Totenkopf ("Skull", what a name for a mountain)
to the Kalmit and then took the curvy decent down towards
the finish line.
Now just another 2 quick(?!) laps with the sun high in the
sky
and then I deserve a victory beer.
Conclusion: a really well organized event, where even the
mountain in between was fun!
Chain to the Right!
