What for a scooter event ! The German Championchips 2009 and a race of the Euro-Cup…this means a lot to a scooter pilot, if he is from Italia, CSSR, Finland, the Entherlands or even from Germany !

Missing a Pirate ??? NOT AT ALL, FOR SURE !

Even just the lift of to this tournament was star-crossed...Lars had brochitis, he was just a big cough and sniff, Maaaak had a sudden funeral in his family and the kitchen boy Sirius had a inguinal strain…let see what happen`s…
We arrived on Friday, find some comfortable place to stay in a gym and made the last plans for Saturday. Maaaak will do the marathon, while Lars and Sirius will suffer of their injuries and will be our furious supporters.
Well, then on saturday, we helped the organizers to safe up the course, mixed up the starting lot for the short distance, well almost all the organization part. At 17:00o´clock(still about 28°C ) the marathon came to its start (err, he even was the German Championship 2009). I did my best, but when you take a look at the altitude profile of the course(http://www.scooter-wnd.de/assets/images/Hohenprifil-Rundweg_Golfplatz.jpg) you will see, that I didn´t had achance for such a flat-country pirate, like me.
After all, the race didn´t finsih very well for myself, the last rolling PIRATE – downhill – at about 55km/h, suddenly „crack“ in the front wheel, a spoke broke down( I let ye keelhaul you stupid sod) and wrapped around the brake, the wheel blocked and up we go over the steering wheel…like that, it´s not a wonderful sport… Lucky me, there was a fence, who catched me, but PIRATES are tough guys. So, the race was over for me! For the rest of the course I keep pushing my scooter to the finish line. ;-)
Just to remember the winner Kai Immonen fron Vinland, he did the marathon up and downhill with his scooter in 1:20h !!! GOSH ! He just missed the world record by seconds - and took the lead in the world ranking from Lars after 3 years. Keelhaul would be a good idea, or what do ye think?

Finally at the winning ceremony, all the hurts and injuries were forgotten and at the evening party we were able to play our owns strength.
ON Sunday there was the 10k run and the relay – again we did the organization und remarked than, that noone from us were able to get on our scooters – Lars with his brochitis or was this the new flu??? Sirius still suffered from hisinguinial strain and sun burn. What about me? I got almost my whole body covered with bruies and problems with my shoulder, well of course a broken down scooter! Well, but just be there and watch is sometimes beautifiul as well, even when its hurt.
