These were the numbers and Nordseeman was the name of the event in Wilhelmshafen. This weekend my first medium distance was on the agenda.

For our second breakfast, we had pond scum with a drop of oil and light brine….

The distance we swam, however was free of this slightly unattractive side dish.

On the bike track, the bridges got higher and the headwind got stronger after each of the 5 laps.

There was even a bridge to cross on the running trail (4x3m/5km), as an added dirty, little trick (it felt like a 15% incline).

My total time was 4:59h. I ended the competition in 4th place in my age division and feel better than I had expected after the event.The question I have to ask myself for November is now BALLERMANN or BALEARMAN?!
