Borkumer mile run:

It should be my 1st half-marathon ever and than it became a red-hot-battle on this East Frisia Island of Borkum. When I travelled here from the Ruhr Basin, it didn´t look lik it would become a nice day. The fog became thicker and thicker, but after the ferry ride, Borkum showed itself from its best side, with a wonderful sunny sky with 28degrees and no wind.
It was a run over 11,66 seamiles, or 21,4km and more than 120 brave landlubbers wanted to compete...but this weather wasn´t mine.

The run was divided in two rounds, for the first I needed 51min, but I must have the wrong runner before, one of the shorter run, because, it was a little  bit to fast for me and so I broke in during the 2nd round maybe by the heat, because it felt hotter because of te sand. But after 1:58h I crossed the finish line. The clock on the picture, is showing the time from the walkers, who started from the other side, in the opposite direction.

I ended up on the 52nd place overall, but I was satisfied with my result for my 1st half-marathon, satisfied but I need improvement and will make it better next time.

Greetings

LG Henning
