The „ Running Pirates of the Lausitz“ were really successful at the Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun 2011

Once thru the green hell and back. That´s the slogan of the finisher shirt of th run, which everybody receive, as well like the finisher medal, who reach the finish line, within the time-limit. 5 Pirates now proudly wear the shirt, which only divine a little bit, what this sport event offers you. The  Pirates travelled their with another guy from the Lausitz, who already took part at the race, to gain honor and glory. The course with lots of hindrances were built up on the Grand-Prix-course of the Nurburgring and the surrounding nature and it demand everything from each of the 8900 starters at this race. Steep ascents, ice-cold water bunks, hindrances to climb and you had to run this course two times with each round 14 hindrances. There were over 20000 spectators by the side, and the atmosphere were quite hot, finally only 7000 starters finished this race and of course all of the Lausitz as well, who ran in a Pirate-Viking-Dress and were some kind of eye-catcher and a coveted target for pictures. But pain comes and goes but proud remains and of course the wonderful memories of the hardest run of all times. (I.Hellmann)
