Run in the valley of the Ruhr

While we´ve temperatures who were quite hot and humid, I went on Saturday to participate at a public run, this time I travelled to Düren, for the 10km run in the valley of the Ruhr. You had to run two rounds. This really good event, is organized by Peter Borsdorff, a man who was born with a collecting box and a camera. This year the run took part for the 19th time.

Normally I haven´t got any problems with racing in the heat, but this time I remark shortly after the start, that today, the weather wasn´t good for my circulation…

In the first round I was able to hold my speed, but it was hard and with a time of 19:40min for the first round I went into the second, but than it happened, I passed out and almost collapsed. So, I had to slow down, that I would be able to finish this run, and I was really happy and overhappy, when I saw the finish.

But that I was the first women to pass the finish line, I didn´t know before. Anyhow, so I ended up on the 1st place overall and of course in my age-group as well, with a time of 41:35min.

At the finish, my supporters already waited for me…

Specialmthanks at this point to Peter Borsdorff, who was my spare man on the podium, because I just wanted to go home, after the race, to recover my circulation.
