Last saturday at the 2nd MBH-Benefit-Performance-Run in Ibbenbüren-Uffeln
started 4 sportsmen from Rheine. For Christine and Rouwen
was it the first race of their life. There were about 230
starters for the 5km track. Mike Sonntag and Karin Hageböck
from the Pirate-Team coached these two in the last weeks for
their first 5k-run. Don´t care about the time, just the idea
of finishing. Sonntag and Hageböck ran with the two novices,
to get them healthy to the finish line.
The weather and the organization of the organizer promised
to be a good tournament. We placed us right at the end at
the starting line, so we couldn´t interfere with the other
starters. At 14:30°´clock was the start of the race. Chriatinae
had a very high pulse just after the start, but I think she
was just a liitle bit more nervous.
Sonntag was the man for the speed from the team, so, that
everyone were able to finish. Rouwen Schmitt finally could
run for himself, and finished with a time of 32:23min and
finished 10th in his age-group 30-34 and 148th overall. Karin
Hageböck guided Christiane Schmitt savely to the finish line
with a time of 38:24min. Mike Sonntag also started at the
following 10km run with about 300 starters and arrived at
the finish with a time of 44:21min as 32nd overall and 9th
in his age group 40-44.
