After my very intensive Preparation during the Winter Months
(about 1800k-Spinnig) and of course a few k`s outside. So,
well trained, I started very confident in the First CC-Race.
Start at 8:00 o`clock in the Olympic Stadium by 8 Degrees,
everything else than warm…
The picture from about 1100 participants outweighs the feeling
of goose bumps and cuz of that you`re going well motivated
in the race. After a Safety-Car-Period companied by the police
right thru Munich, the Race being cleared off after 8k`s,
so we raced with 35 km/h a gravelled path right at the Isar-River
!
The High Speed, the loose gravel caused a lot of crashes and
rushes, but I got Lucky. Soon, I reached the top and we rode
right after the Leading Motor-Cycle. But tough Luck, the “whippersnapper”
missed the junction on our 64k-Round and rode with us the
Long-distance round, 87k`s. That was not funny, and we wanted
to kick his A… from his bike.
Well, what to Do?? Give up? Turn Around? Go on…? We decided
to go on accelerated and to finish the Long-Distance at full
throttle…
Most of the riders couldn`t follow the high Tempo, cause of
that we were soon a 11-Headed Leading Group. Most of the Time,
myself and two Austrian Guys took the leading position in
the wind. After a few moments of frustation, we decided to
go together as one over the Finish-Line and to do no more
tries of pull-out.
For what ???. Still, directed by the Leading motor-Cycle,
we came back in the Olympic-Stadium after 2:20. 30 meters
ahead of the finsh-line, we got off our Bikes, waiting for
Attendance from the Audience and all the others, Showed up
the “Finger” and rolled our bikes across the Finish-Line…
The organizer came for us to apologize, that a Motor-cyclist
missed the way, that we were the ones who suffers. Later,
however, it turned out that all the others rode behind us
and so we got the best time of day in 2:27 after 84k`s and
being honored with the 1st place afterall.
The Pro`s, who rode the long-distance naturally, were in a
equal time with us, what shows you the high tempo from us.
So, we became a Winning Picture with the Leading Team and
a handshake of the organizer that we not should be so displeased...
So, what to say !?!? Well, it was a nice race, nice riders,
bad Signposting and even more bad Trace Leaders. But after
all….1st place from 880 Particiants and holding high the PIRATE-FLAG
! The form fits after all, but now with full throttle to the
next race ! You gonna hear from me very soon… Your lower Bavarian
PIRATE
