after the Exercice and training on my Flower Child Island La Gomera in January, we`re getting down to business again…The first race of the Canary Challenge 2009 was theFuerteBike Marathon.
Not even the Start and Finish Destination Caleta del Fuste, also the roadway over hard Boulder fields, Sand Dunes in dry Creeks and cliffy Ramps and also the heavy headwind was new…
The heavy Fuerteventura Headwind wasn`t new of course, everybody, who did some bike here, how it works, you going round the corner and…..Stands

During the Fight for the Overall Victory, I had to let go the others in the Heavy headwinds around 20K before the finish line. I couldn`t follow the pace from Candido Naranjo Quintero. So, Afterall I landed after 3:00:52h on the 2nd place in my Age Group and 22nd ovrall. The next Canary Challenge 2009 will be at 14.March on Gran Canaria at the Open MTB-Marathon from my Queen of the Sun Petra Wonisch from Canary-Bike.com, wee`ll see us again.

After the Marathon we(the xterraSpecialist Carsten Eggeling, the italian Marathon champion 2008 Mike Felderer and myself bloodthirsty how ever) were fighting a furious battle against the Freestyle Gang out of the supporting programm from Fuerte-Bikes.

Back in our 4* Hotel “Elba Carlota” in Caleta del Fuste, I Discovered my real Passion: Animacion at Water gym

I Will stay and enjoy another few days in the Sun --
