I tried to reach the stars, and it was enough to get on: 10th place overall at the Country-Folding-Bike-Mountain-World Championchip in Pfronten. World Champion became Martin Hollerbach from the team of MARIN.

Already the starter package predicted some surprise, instead of energy-bars and iso-drinks you found the latest news and chocolate cigarettes, Ahoy Fizzy Powder and MAOAM.
So, everything went in the back bags of my bike-shirt and I went on to the start-line. Right from the start, we had an awesome fast cadence n the first flat km´s on the road to Breitenberg with his merciless 680 steep DA´s.
Here started the bigsuffering for the 53 Folding-Bike pilots. Endlessy serpentine were our constant companion on the dirt way up to the finish at the mountain station of the Breitenberg mountain railway. After 48:05 I conquered the finidh-line and drank right in the finish a “ALMDUDLER” and seated myself in the mountain railway which brought the participants back downhill, to the start.

But the long conversion and with a sway pedal stroke, and the combination of the grip tyre profile of the BMX-tyres were a little bit to much for my bike, the frame broke just a few inches over the bottom bracket.

The Contest have been a good mixture of pure fun and big sports. The organizer”Hannes Zacherl” did a great job at this Country-Folding-Bike-Mountain World Championchip. I will be participate next year again…
