Off to the island…

Six months without training, produce quite an effect on the body. That's why it's about time to start getting ready for the IRONMAN Triathlon in Frankfurt.
Due to the crappy weather in Germany and the lack of a good pirateship, this means jumping a flight to Lanzarote with Coach Flo (starting at the Ultraman Canada this year). 10 days of basic training camp. ;-)

My favorite island welcomed me with fantastic weather, a nice profile and a little wind, which I had admittedly blocked from memory. So, there was a lot of drag on the chain.

Over 8 days of training, we tore down 559m/900km and 39370ft/12000hm. Pretty good, for Lanzarote.
I just ignored my pulse - it was way to high anyway, when we took the standard route up into the Fire Mountains… but our new training motto is this:
The pulse'll go down on its own.

Since the beginning of the season hasn't been running so smoothly, I sent my fans onto the road ahead of me, so every now and then I was given the proper motivation… at the Montana de Timanfaya and the Mirrador del Rio…THANKS!

A successful start to the season with some "enjoyable" speed averages. I will always remember the 87m/140km lap at an average of 18.6mph/30km/H. The day after, I was rewarded with very heavy legs

Of course some running and swimming was going on too... In order to survive this Harakiri training camp, from 5 to 27 hours a week, I needed the proper subsistence. I recommend THE T-bone steak at Club La Santa, on Saturdays.

Keep the fire burning.
