Gone with the Wind….

This Year, we went Somewhere else to the Training-Exercise Camp...Yes, to Little-Hawaii with the Corpus-Team from Jürgen Sessner from Hilpoltstein. Where every Triathlete should have been once in his lifetime!?
Of Course, CLUB LA SANTA ! ! !
While we were driving Bus from the airport Arrecife to this small town La Santa. It was quite plain for me, this is „no easily Island rolling“ Exercise-Camp. And that all the stories of the wind where everything else than exaggerations…
While our Flight started in Frabkfurt at 7:10 o`clock, we arrived real early on the Island and had lots of time to arrange our apartment cozily and enjoy by a nice cup of coffee the overview from our balcony. At this possibility I Could fix the bike…

After that, we made a little sightseeing Course in the Hotel area and let the first day pass with a small swim-exercise in the 50m Hotel-Pool...

At Dinner-Time we met the complete staff around Jürgen Sessner: Heidi Jessberger, Katja Schumacher, Timo Bracht and Maike Krebs and of course all the other participants of the Camp

The Following Day we started with a 3,5h Starting and get to know round thru the National Park…Here I gained to know the Wind, his permanent hissing sounds like, you were surrounded all the time by two trains in your ears. In addition to that, I thought that anyone closed my breakes, Thank God, we took a rest for „refueling“

The Swim-exercise lasted an Hour and took place in change before breakfast or after the Ride-Outs at 17:00h on the schedule. There was the possibility to get tanned the other parts of the body, which were covered during cycling, ok…not all…

There were also a lot to see, for example Pirate Burrows and caravan of camels for the seaworthy Tourists...

Naturally their were a few days off, and at one of them Jess and Myself lent us MTB`S to ride to the near Famara-Beach. Which its busy with a lot of surfers,old-flower-people, performers and outrunners. On the way to the Beach, we met two well-known Girls, who didn`t take it very much curious with the Day-Off, like us...

Well, each one spend his Day-Off on his own-Timo worked on his new bike for example...

In the evening you could see the effects of the sun bathing on the nose and cheeks(Red on Red, Fits you well…)

Later that evening there was a real interesting lecture over a new Shoe Label, who is available in Germany in the middle of May. The current Hawaii-Champion Craig Alexander ran with them over the Finsh-Line in Kona and also his following Victories.
The Newtons work with a special system in the forefoot area and so discern to the other shoes from the rivals in business

Well, the last days on Lanzerote passed by like seconds, even the ride on the IRONMAN course passes by, sometime ;-) and than it was time to say goodbye but not without a liitle party ;-)

Altogether the Training_camp was a real success ! Special thanks to Jürgen and all of his Team !

My Conclusion: The Wind in Good Old Germany is a small breath of air…

Goodbye and chain Starboard !

Nina
