At the Bike Day this year took place next to Dirtjump, Downhill
and Trial for the first time a real Cross-Country race.
Though we made our way on the 18.04.2009 to the Salt Mines
City of Lüneburg to kick asses of all the others Participants.
The Weather was like the last weeks real terrific. The RSC-Lüneburg
made up the Course on the real dry`n Dusty ADAC-safety Driving
Area. It was like magic.
It got all you need, from everything a little bit, you had
steep – Ramps, -Downhills passages who you need for quiet
a bit of tecnic and long straight lines. The “Old Men” Thomas
Zühlke and myself, were allowed to star in the Pro-League,
what made the thing much, much more interesting
So, we stand there, right between the in cumbent German Master
Andre Kleindienst(Bergamont), Niklas Droste(Powerslide-Focus)
and one of the Older Masters riders like Frank Erbse(Team
Focus), just to count a few…
The Kick-Off signal came right at 10:00o`clock and the field
started to take the 10 rounds with each 3.5 K`s and about
100DA(Difference in Altitude) per round. Right in the first
round a quad(group of four( Zühlke, Kleindienst, Droste and
Zamponi)) were able to settle off the other riders.
Sadly, the group didn`t stay very long together, because no
one could follow or stand the speed of Andre Kleindienst in
the second round, so he had to take his turns by his own…
Thomas Zühlke rode about 10-15 seconds ahead of me after the
second round, until he got a bit nervous and proceeded. For
myself I rode this weekend at my Limits so, I wasn`t able
to follow the speed, anyhow at the end of the race I stood
there on 2nd place in the Master Race right before Frank Erbse.Andre
Kleindienst won as expected the Race of the Pro`s before Jan-Niklas
Droste and Torben Saßnick.
After all, it was a very nice Tournament, and it would be
worth coming back next year again.
So long, Chain Mostright
