last sunday I started at a race in Neustadt an der Weinstraße
on the middle distance with about 53km and 1300m of altitude,
weel, sounds very wasy, but at the end of the day I knew it
better. Before I gotta say something about the race, I`ve
to say that all the shops here were loaded of PIRATE-STUFF.
On the day before the race Ubi weared his pink exercise clothes.
The start was just before the fantastic scenery of the market
place of Neustadt.
All the people say that this course is one of the nicest imarathon
courses in whole Germany. At no time time or place of the
course you had the chance to recover. It was a constantly
up and down and the forest ways were difficult to ride because
you had to kick the pedals all the time. Characteristic for
this course is, that here are a lot of single trails, and
I mean not only small passages, I mean passages who were only
handlebar wide…
to make the things a little bit more complicated. The uphill
single trails were covered with rocks and roots and you had
to find just the right small way between it. You had to use
all your power to get uphill.
I have to salute to the riders doing the long distance, they
rode the middle distance two times...
But after all it was a happy ending. Ust before taking a shower
at my hotel I met a guy from Belgium and talked a bit over
the course. He said that he felt real comfortable after all,
but he lost the way, so he raced only 37km, but maybe he followed
the signs for the short distance…
See ya next time in Grafenschaft.
Tschüss Elvis
