Hans-Peter (Mallorca Paule) and myself made our way on the short – with 37km and 870m of altitude – really short course in Nordenau for the third race of the BSN-Marathon trophy in the introspectively scenery of the Schmallenberger land.
The signposting were a little bit customary poor, but traceable, while didn´t we come here to play???

I met Jens Martin there, but in the end I did not find him again for the gathering of evidence. While the parking lot slowly filled itself, Hans Peter arrived shortly before the start. HE explained that one of his bike tyres burst on the trip, so he had to get a new one. Obviously he gave hi last week on his Winterberg tour the deayth shot… Just before, the good performance of Jens, because he reached the 3rd place overall on the long course and tighten his leading place in the trophy-jugdement for the long distance in his classment.

We were lucky with the weather. In spite of a few muddy passages, the course was dry and the temperatures weren´t as hot as they pronounced. The first round made the big peleton of about 450 riders to sperate a bit, so, for the first time since long, I did not live to see a bigger traffic jam on the track which was very amitious and technically, but really nice to ride. Just before the finish you had to solve a stiffy uphill part of about 20%. When you heard what they tell here, then Mallorca-Paule flew up this part. At the end almost noone could defend, when he played up his charm, so he soon got circled from these two riders. Unlucky was, that he didn´t got recognized when he pased the finish line, so he did not showed up in the race scores. With the time he had, he would be under the top20 in the overall trophy league on the short distance, maybe he can arrange something like that afterwards…

To the nice lady P-racers, we gotta say, that Plettenberg and the 13th of september is not far away, which means for myself to defeat my city-life championship, which is a really difficult double tracked exercise at this moment… But before we come to that, Hans Peter will start on the next weekend on the 24h race in Duisburg as a single starter. Sadly, I cannot support him, because I start at the Sigma Sport Marathon in Neustadt/Weinstraße.

Finally we have to say, that you had here lots of tasty, selfmade cakes, pies...
