Just to get an adequate preparation for the P-Way, shortly
we decided us to abslve an altitude training in the area of
Alpe D´Huez…
Balderdash.. .....of course not, everybody who knows me would
have asked if everything is allright with me or if I got a
bad headache....
In fact, we were there for the wedding of Gaby´s brother,
who lives in Grenoble. The wedding should be fulfill in the
chuch(where Gaby pointed at) from a french PERE, who made
the marriage halfways in english, because Florians wife Anna,
he get to know her in Canada (Vancouver) who cames from Ireland
and her father comes from Danmark...so, there were guests
from Canada, Danmark, Germany, Ireland, England, France, Italia
and Spain invited. Well, I thought we got a boring life…
We stayed, slept, recoverd and ate in this lovely Hotel...and
of course there were the party…
One big thing of this hotel is, that it got ancestors who
were cyclists. J
First of all we unpacked pour bikes to get to know the environment.
We got some insider tipps for our tour…
The scenery was unbelievable beautiful....sadly it is so far
away from us...
Here we´re on 1643m...remember, just to get to know..
In the ack of us,, near the horizon, you could see the Mont
Blanc...or well...mmh...the Piz Palü???
Obviously, the ancient cave-dwellers knew what to do with
good bikes J
Here is a picture of some incomer cave-dwellers, who made
themselves comfortable at the camp-fire...
The following day we rode with the bridal couple in the direction
of Alpe d`Huez, but suddenly we had to withdraw from our tour,
because it started to rain and it became very cold.
I was very jealous on Florian, Gaby´s brother, because when
I arrived downhill, my finger fell off because of the cold
and I got a stiffy neck...
Afterwards, we had to go back there up by car, to make some
pictures to proove that we were there...J
The fortunate bridal couple in front of the finish-banner
...and
again in front of the church...
We would have stayed much longer there, but we had to go to
Friedrichhafen for the Eurobike…
I hope we`ll see us again in Lans-en-Vercours
