Moin Pirates!

The letter from the Bike Magazin arrived in the beginning of this year. I won. A starting lot in the Fiat Rotwild Team for the Trans Germany. Damn, I was proud.
It was an advertisment from Rotwild and the Bike Magazin, you just had to say, why just you want to ride the Trans Germany. So, my answers were the best after all. Well, I was very excitited and were really impressed from all the stuff that might come. My plan was, first to ride a marathon in Willingen and than go on the Trans Germany.

The bike rehearsal in Willingen on the middle distance went bad. It was my first marathon - first round was ok, but during the 2nd round I broke in. I did not had a computer on my bike and I really tantalized me on the last 20km, because I didn´t know how much more to ride. Not really fun at all. At the end I was really messed up and thought about giving up the Trans Germany. Just thoughts, everybody has, when everythings not go as they should…well, 68th place from 168 participants.

Furthermore I received my new Rotwild R.R2 MTB Bike and were able to test it. Like a rocket. It just took a little bit of time until I find the right setup for my new bike but than…Countdown. And of course the team jersey done the rest. Many Thanks to Ubi for the spare tyre and to Yoni and Alfred for the screw J

OK, coming back to the TransGEr. Which started one week after Willingen. Ubi showed up for the start in Erbach on a folding bike and bolstered me up. I gotta say - TransGer was a fantastic experience. Awesome nice team and a fantastic support.

...well, what a pity we had bad weather – just to mentioned. I rode for my circumstances a good race. I slowly moved forwards from the 107th place from about 193 riders to the 90th place. That bolstered me a bit. Sadly I missed on the 4th stage a junction, after I lost my group which I lead for about 2h. Shit happens,so I paid my dues. I lost 15minutes, wasn´t that bad, it just moved me to the 95th place overall.

On the 5th stage from 7 my knee started to hurt, I taped it up and made it as the 143th to the finish, in the following two stages were nothing to get for me. Broken hearted I gave up, I simply couldn´t push down the pedals. So, I got a new job, I became a supply supporter for Kerstin and Daniele. It was awesome to see, what for a fast speed they rode. Finally it was a fantastic experience and made lots of fun. Thanks to the Rotwild-Team for Vacancy, the mechanics, massages and of course the bike, which I had to give back after the race, regrettably. The course wasn´t that exciting, many endless lond forest interstates. After one stage you knowed how all the others looked like, maybe they change this for the next year, or I gotta do the TransAlp – wait`n see. Of course there were a lot of friendly people and a super food supply.

Sadly, that we missed the 3rd place in the team ranking, tight after the team of Rothaus Cube, otherwise there would be a place on the podium for me, even when I just be the 4th of the team with no valuation.
Well, at the end of this summer I made my way to Schierke to the finals of the Harz-Trophy on the long-distance, I wanted to know how much more condition I got left after the TransGEr.

NUTTIN`

Maybe I should have done a shorter distance. 69km doesn´t looked very long for m, but they were very hard. The race in Schierke isn´t a marathon but a long and hard XC-Race. Even with lots effort in exercise I couldn´t enjoy this course, I had my problems on the downhill parts.I slowed down very much on these, I got passes by almost everyone and had teerible aches inmyhands and my back.Only on the uphill stages I got enough power and keep on passing the others, only to be passed again be them on the next downhill part. Many thanks to Thomas who keep on pushing me, I hope you didn´t lost to much places by doing that. Maybe next time I gooto ride the middle distance. This was too hard for me.At least I were able to pass 5 or 6 riders on the last hill, this was very good for my self.confidence, but marrs my spotless impression. I had better done walking…

`til the next report

Many greetings

Jost
