Under all of the teams was for the very first time the team from the AXA-Insurance od Marcus Eikholt, the RIVERPIRATES

For the third time this event started made up by the Rowing Club Rauxel 1922 at the 22nd of august on the Wartburgisland. The pre-runs started at 11:00 and the finals were planned for 19:30o´clock. After the winner ceremony at 19:45o´clock a big party was planned at the boathouse of the rowing club for all the sportsman and their supporters.

Some of the teams already participated this event in the years before, but even some new teams were on the start, like our team from the AXA-Insurance of Marcus Eikholt who tried to reach for the gold on the Rhein-Herne-Channel at Castrop-Rauxel. Even the mayor ”Johannes Beisenherz” had a team, the “Mayor-Team ”.

You gotto go in a quadruple sculls with a steerman or steerwoman on the 350m long course. The winner of the pre-runs were directly qualified for the last round of sixteen, but all the other teams got the chance to reach the final round, with a win of the repechage.

After the pre-runs, the event goes on with a KO-System, only the winners of the runs, will reach the next round until finally only three teams are left for the big final.

All participating sportsman recieve a „ River-Town-Land“ Badge; And the first three also get a winner trophy. This years Rowing-Day cooperation event by the town of Castrup-Rauxel.
