For my last event of the year I wanted to compete in an olympic triathlon (1,4 – 42 - 10) in Rodgau.

Lucky me, we were allowed to swim with our wet-suits. The following picture shows me and my fellow sufferer Alex and Barbara. Barbara compete in a relay team as the swimmer and Jan were doing the bikepart.

After the 1,4km swim, I was happy to feel the shore again under my feet…

The swim time of 27 minutes is more than allright for me, after the swim part I had to run a bit thru the transition area, at least 500m to get to my bike. On the bike I suffered a bit with a time of 1:21h, but both changing times are in there, and because of that I don´t have a “real” bike time. The course was flat, but the wind was doing a real tough job and got stronger from round to round. By the time we had wind from behind, we were in the forest…

Afterwards came the running, I needed about 50 min for that – also satisfying!
My overall time was 2:39:53h which made me feel quiet good at the end of the season. Sadly, I didn´t reach a place on the podium , but at least I got some new goals for next year. Jan and his relay team finshed 10th and were satisfied with this result. Having said this, next year I want to attack the middle-distance !
