And now, the preparations for the Trans Alp Challenge started
- with my first race as a PIRATE thru the wild mountains of the
Harz. On Sunday morningthe 6.6.10 at 5:45 AM, when I stood on
the weighing machine it said to me 79,5kg. Damn it – to heavy
for the Alps ! One hour later I was on the road with Nils and
Andre heading to the Chausthl Zellerfeld marathon.
I applied for the middle distance 68km and 1560m of altitude,
when I received my starting number, my brain told to start on
the short distance, but the Harz told me: it will work. We started
at 9:00Am and I felt really good, so I rode up every uphill part,
maybe not every Pirate is fast, but at least they can ride up
and downhill. After 1:40h I finished the first round of two, And
my legs said NO to me, no more, but…I made up my way for the next
round. ON the second round I blasted, so I finished at a very
slow speed.
After 3:45h I reached the finish line. I was all messed up, but
it was really important for my head to finish. Half an hour, the
world stood in a better light for me again and I could say right
now. It was fun after all.
Gratulations to Thomas Zühlke for his overall 3rd place.
Now its time for me to exercise and loosen fat…
