Weser Ems Cup, the first race |
On monday I was on the MTB, together with the „ Chief“ Pirate
Ron in Harburg, yesterday I rode with Ansgar together in Sternwede
with my cross-bike a CTF and today we went to a cross-race in
Engter/ Bramsche. It was the first run of the “ Weser-Ems Cup
2010” in Engter and also, it was my first cross-race. 40minutes
of pushing the pedal and lots of technical stuff is needed...both
of them, not my speciality.
While I was warming up on the course, even the “kids” passed me,
and than I knew where I had to start…all behind. The woman started
shortly after the men´s race and passed me very soon, now I got
the silence, to become friend with my new hobby. My pulse was
a high as it could get, so I “ rode “ this round course with a
few pushing/ carrying passages. Round for round it went better
for me and finally I was even able to pass 2 guys…now it started
to make fun, but after 40minutes it was all over.
Totally exhausted but without a crash I passed the finish line.
The jostling at the start, I did not have, maybe next time, and
I hope, that I´ll soon be used to the high burden after the start
and that my “steering art”, will become better soon. The most
difficult thing for me was to get back onto the pedals after the
running passages, because my shoes and my pedals didn´t want to
become a permanent connection.
So, lots of stuff to do and learn until the next time…
Ready with the preparing...
Start…and right behind me the women after me…
Thru the trees…
...without a crash, freedom again
The others can jump on their bikes…
…the others can even ride, where I had to push…
…even, get back on the pedals, I have to train!!!
Now...driving school is over...
Conclusion: Starting last, but not arrived last, it’s a kind of
success, but lots of stuff to do!!! I´ll finish much further in
front ! Power on…
