Home-match without the Tiger
The „ Home-match“ in our own living-room, and everyone wants to participate. And of course when you´re a Pirate. And because of that, the “ Running Pirates of Lausitz” participated at the 4th DAK-City run of Hoyerswerda.

The first for the run was the 6 year old Pirate offspring talent Anna-Maria Mikwauschk. She did the 1km run of her Seenland elementary school in 6:32min, and placed herself in th midfield in her age-group.
For the 10km run, the three founders of the club, had higher goals.

You had to run a 2km round course 5times, right thru the old town and the Zoo of Hoyerswerda. And the Running Pirates of the Lausitz wanted to show everybody, what they´re made of, and what they all did or train for in the last months...

With wondeful late summer temperatures and sunshine, they all were able to improved their times on the 10km course. And because of that, nine of the animals in the Zoo, had to be freed, to chade the Pirates over the course, to speed them up.

Jan Möller also were able to reach the 3rd place in his age-group (40-44). Altogether participated about 1300 runners on the race and different distances.
The results of the Pirates :
Steffen Gierth 0:44:58h ( 4th AG 35-39),
Jan Möller 0:47:44 / 3rd AG 40-44) and
Harald Skopi 0:48:27 (6th AG 30-34)
