(500m swim, 27km bike, 5km run) On the 11th of july 2010 at 8:00o´clock
in the morning I was ready with the transiton area - and the temperatures
of 26degrees were really nice and almost bearable.
The lake of Karlsfeld still sleeps in the morning sun, only the
buoys show that something is going to happen here soon...
The starters for the first wave have to to register themselves
at 8:40 just to start 5minutes later.
Than the silent is gone with the wind, because on this short distance
(500m) lots of fights for the right positions began just with
the starting signal.
As 18th I came out of the water, but I could fight my way up to
the 6th position with the best bike split ( overall). This time
you had to put on your bike shoes before you leave or later enter
the transition area, because of local incidents. The judges had
a sharp eye on that.
It was really hard to run with these slippery bike shoes on the
groung while you are leaving or entering the transition area.
At the run part(5km), I was able, only for a short time, to reach
the 3rd place, but 2 triathletes were better runners than me,
and so I finished on the 5th place overall, I was really satisfied
ybout it, while the temperature was now on 30degrees.
