Last weekend the guys of the „ Pirate Captains Crew” decided to
attack and punch themselves for nothing… The crew member were
Bernd Schiermeister (58), Ronald Prinzlau (53), Peter Rast (54)
and Rainer van Ellen (51) ( from left to right) nd together we
were 216 years old...and as I said before, we wanted to know again...
When you face the staerter field….their were 661 4-people teams
on the start and than as well Single, double, team of eight…,
MTB… and not to forget the hobby biker on several distances…
Gaby our leader of the logistics, and her friends Sabrina and
Sofia had a tight grip on us.

Peter here by studying of the course…he wants to know, where the
entrance of the transition area is…
Rainer and Peter by changing the one and only trnasponder für
the team...which had to be worn, becasue of the function and contact
on the ankle...others team, with their experiences from the last
years had the transponder on an extra empty drinking bottle, as
a relay-stick.
With the upcoming night, you became more´n more tired...and the
all sweaty clothes won´t dry either...
…but luckily the sunset was very early…what a pleasure !!!
Even the sun was shining high above, taking a little nap in the
shadow…
At the end, you could see lots of smiling faces !
We finished on the 137th place from 661 teams and this was the
11th place from all 48 age-groups, not bet..or???
I didn´t know, that retired person are in such a good shape...
