P-Way 2010 .... Continue of the beloved series: This year everything is different“

Stedebeker and the P-Way-Team called and everybody came… Okay, not everybody, but almost…Sam Beaten, Dirk Stück and Niels Mortensen were ill, Ubi wasn´t able to come, because he was sitting in…., Kai Engelfried had to work, Henning Jaecks was on the wedding of his best friend the night before and Elvis alias Martin Krankemann were too late. Normally he already sits on Thursday in Paule´s Pub, but this year? He wasn´t there on Saturday eithe, and on Friday, finally he was there and visited Rons hawker´s tray. Maybe he´s getting older??? There he comes... The Daniel... after his half-marathon. After all, we felt really strong aren´t we? But we, the Pirates of Plettnberg, got a new illness,. To chicken out( really dangerous, you don´t care anymore of loud music, riding downhill, oink jerseys and the pressure of: YOU HAVE TO RIDE). Almost ZimbO also got the illness, but Ron had a wonderful idea, with Stedebeker, Mike Sonntag and our new MTB-guys Enrico Sehem and Rouwen Schmitt, to do a “ Gentleman´s Tour”, it was the best aid against this sickness. Zimbo and his Team-chef :) Like this was the thought on saturday morning. On Sunday all the men were on the start, okay almost, everyone who survived the nightly-briefing at Aunt Käthe and Stedebeker ( this box of wheat beer, Ouzu and one-and-a-half bottles of Ramazotti). The race was again the highlight of the year... …even the “Pirate-Hunter” were there as well. Jörg and Anne Bertram were booked as replacement riders.... . as you can see: Pitjes, Willy and Stephan got lots of fun before the start ! Because we did not want to stand in the way, with our “Gentleman Tour”, we started from all behind… from Left to Right : ZimbO, Ron, Mike, Rouwen and Enrico nice Tattoo... The atmosphere at the start was awesome, awesome to get duck-skin, after 5 minutes we crossed the start-line… But there were still some riders between us and the sweeper bus. but we didn´t care much about it....wait, later. ZimbO suggested to go into the local retirement center for lunch( 2,60€).. After the first ascent, it became to slow for Mike Sonntag and he started to push the pedals, sadly. But Ron and ZimbO wanted a really nice picture on the finish-line, at least it should be 4 musketeers, err Pirates. The course went passed several shops for champagne and beer, some nice downhill passages, a small tour thru the retirement center, a giant bath tub, no, not Stede´s new masion, the local pool, in which the local “ scaffolder” did a really awesome job and work, he built several bridges and passages, across, over and under the pool. For a short time, Ron thought about it, to jump in the pool, but than he remebered his mobile in his back bag of his jersey… This picture here is during the race, ZimbO got here champagne and beer... Well, we also races a bit… At this point, thanks a lot to the photograph for these 3 pictures and being so friendly to give them to us. For more pictures,just click on the banner of www.sportograf.com Now we know, that some riders were missing during the technical exercise of the P-way and also un-excused,but no matter, finally we reached the finish-line. Rouwen also made a break with champagne and beer on the Grävinglöh- thanks a lot to the companies of Michael Gräb, family Schröder and Crummenerl – almost get lost. After all it wa a new experinces for us to start from all behind, with our “ Gentleman Tour-Speed”, to enjoy all the scenery of the course, to talk with the viewers and supporters and to drink the one or another glaf of champagne or beer. Conclusion: is was the best P-way, we ever had !! Jörg Hüter is finally a Pirate again, he just had a bad day, he finished only on the 4th place... :) But everywhere were bright cheering.... Peter was the only Pirate this year to climb on the podium. . . I told him not to take a look around... My personal congratultions to our new Pirate-Champion Thomas Zühlke ( short distance), Jörg Hüter ( long distance), as well like Daniel Flöttmann as the only Pirate-runner and the Pirate wife Aunt Ullu by doing the half-marathon by walking !!! And of course fof the whole P-Way-Team for these great organization and contest.
