Finallay sunday arrived and it was time for the „ Rursee-marathon“
!!! And chiKKen knew…It would be really fu….g hard. Whar else
can I say about the “ Rursee” ??? Well, it’s a reservoir in the
Eifel, nearby the tiny village of Einruhr. It sounds very nice,
at first, it would be, if you not have to run around the lake…
A „small“ round around the lake !!! ;-)))) Take a look at all
the exclamation marks…
42,195km of upand downhill…and the best thing is, its all the
42,195km. My time-limit was 3:30h...than this run should be done...
Well prepared was chiKKen for this run under wet and cold weather
conditions, and on the first km´s, ChiKKen had to slow down himself
of starting too fast, because its still a marathon. He got a good
start, everything went perfect, when he reached the half-marathon
point, he had a time of 1:38h. Perfect. Now, go on easy, and finish
this mararthon under 3:30h.
But…suddenly it happened, between km 25-26, chiKKen twists his
ankle, firstly all was still allright, almost, but only 2km further,
the pain in his foot began to hurt more´n more, and now the Rursee-marathon
was about to start for real, of course he thought about “ GIVIN`UP
!!!???
But chiKKen wanted to finish this run, now it was time to run,
just from one km to the other, naturally the pain is his foot
didn´t begin to cool down, but who care´s, this thing had to come
( run) to an end. Somehow.
At point 37km was a ascent of about 13%, quite one kilometer long,
and chiKKen was even mental totally fucked up, but he still made
the last 5km until the finish, he even managed to run this “maniac
ascent”, because after it, things can only get better.
The end of the story is easy to tell: he finished with a time
of 3:48h…he got 3 sprained tendons and a torn ankle as a gift
of the Rursee…. But after all, it made lots of fun….next year
for sure…chiKKen will be participate again…

see, was wuite a good atmossphere…
Running on the home straight after 42,195km…
It was like a party for chiKKen, and he will come back next year
for sure…
