Finally
again, hanging out with more than 100 of like-minded people, talking
about technical stuff and even more better to compare our state
of fitnis on Saturday on the course. It´s also double the fun,
when you´re together with your mate Willy and his girl friend
Jana.
For the second time I started as a Pirate, I think it brings the
fortune to me, but more of this later ;-) the weather did a good
job on Friday, with summer temperatures and a stiff breez. On
Saturday for the marathon time, clouds came out, but it was comfortable
warm, and for heaven´s sake, Petrus must be a MTB, because he
only gently let it rain in the afternoon, after almost everybod
finished the race.
I gotta say it, it was an awesome course, I always will remmber
the the last rooty uphill part just before the end of the first
round with the serpentine uphill part to the Ettelsberg, the blocked
downhill part following by the painful increase with a group of
4, which made quite a good pace, and closing the long and neverending
forest insterstate with a gentl but constantly increase with doesn´t
wanted to end.
I even saw some Pirates, as well like lots of Pirate jerseys.
I gotta say it again, the weather did a good job that day, I get
along with 2x075l of appletizer plus 2 bars for 95km, so just
before the finish line I got a little feeeling of becoming in
cramp in my thigh, but it still was enough for a sprint towards
the finish line.
In fact, I had a time of 5:02h and the 64th place in my aga-group,
yeah still men. After the 19th place in Clausthal, my second better
placement for me, after racing for 3 years as a hobby bitch, for
the first time again real races.
The Pirate Jersey gives wings to you…
In the evening I filled up again my carbohydrates-storage by eating
Tarte Flambee and a few alcoholic free wheat beers and a big hot
fudge sundae.
The sales booth was some kind of stimulus satiation on Friday,
because, I didn´t wuite know where to go, but soon I got the point,
because I left the thing over loosing weight of my bike behind
me, so I could walk quite easy all thru the carbon parque. It´s
not that interesting for me anymore.
Well, but Liteville is awesome, I don´t know why I´m that infected
from this brand, aswell like the titan and steel frames from Cotic
and Independent-Cycles. But…the best thing came at the end, the
most awesome clothes you can ever get: “ P-I-R-A-T-E ”, what else???
Everything else is just for washing your bike. I found it at the
smallest but most popular coolest sales booth of the whole market.
Finally not to forget the good food suppliy after the marathon,
the really good cake and pie, the noodles were the best, and the
most best bio-buttermilk, I was so stunned about it, so I grabbed
myself some more of these, like a Pirate is. Sadly, I did´nt have
so much time on Saturday to enjoy and to chill a bit on the sales
booth and to talk a lot without the race bustle, but we wanted
to be back at home just in time in Hamburg for the first game
of Jogi´s boys.
The accomodation was all good, but I don´t have lots of requirements
in a hotel, which doesn´t change anything since the 70ties, but
at least a TV, a bed and a silentlocation. Next year I´ll come
backagain for sure, and want to dinidh about half an hour faster
than this year…I learned something from this year, registrate
earlier for getting a better starting box, this means not so much
traffic or jams, as well like a higherconversion, and of course
to exercise more specific.
