Cyclassics 2011

While the rest of my crew participated at the 24h race at the Nürburgring, I decided myself to purchase a starting lot for the 100km course on Ebay.

Normally, I wanted to ride an easy tour together with Enrico, but thing came different...
Stede called and told me, that he wasn´t able to start and so, Melina rode in the name of “ Stedebeker”. Enrico and his frineds wanted to wear their village-jerseys.

ON the day before the race, Melina called me and told me that her tyres were all flat and porose, so we met 15minutes before the start at the LOGO/ Damptor.

On Sunday morning while I ate my breakfast, my mobile ringed….Melina…I got a flat tyre in Wandsbek, what now??? I excused myself and told her, that there is not enough time to get her, she should grab all her things and should take the train to the meeting point. Interestingly, both of us reached the point at the same time, and I was able to fix her bike.

In the meantime, Joe called me, and asked if I had by accident a spare rear wheel in my car, because his tubed tyre was flat…

For helping Melina with her bike, I recieved some self.made jam form her as a gift.

Now, heading for Joe, Luckily I was able to fix his tubed tyre, with the „ TIPTOP-BREAKDOWN SPRAY “ from our sponsor, which was documentated from a TV-station of Hamburg.
Special thanks again to TIPTOP and the nice Shimano Service Team in the starting area, who got the last 2BE into the tyre.

Sadly after 20km we lost contact to Melina, she couldn´t go that fast, but instead of fun with Melina, I had fun with Joe, and made up our own group, with our own „ Belgium Circle“ and sometimes reached a speed of 50km/h and were able to get rid of the others.

In the finish area, waited the Pink Pirates from Aachen already for us. Nad than we drank a wheat beer from Mohle Mio for only 2,80€, this is very cheap for Hamburg. Thanky you for your hospitality.

I´m really looking forward for the next year...
