For the first time again , as a bike courier in my old district

At that time, I april of 2000, I ran my first marathon and the very next day, I rode for the first time as abike courier. Now 11years and one day later, I wanted to repeat it, but only on the 10km run of Barsbüttel.   In the environment of NRW, I collected some km´s, of course under by avoiding the urbane regions. But than one day, I plugged all my bikes and lots of more stuff in my red wonder car... and drove to Hamburg. When I reached Hamburg, I placed all my stuff in different storage rooms of various friends, because, I haven´t already got an apartment. As my working equipment I choose an old Giant Escaper, and with my muscles still sour, from the run that day before ( YES, 10k under 55min), I started my first working day as a bike courier on the 20th of june.. The weather of Hamburg welcomed me, with heavy winds and lots of rain, so I gained some showers on one day. But I was able to look inside the one or another newly build houses in the harbour. But the meniscus of my right knee, reckon to contact me from time to time. On the fourth day, I jumped of my bike really easy and than came a disgusting noise, and I lay down. But I was lucky, it was only sprained and cracked, but not broken.  My ankle is almost that thick as my knee, but yesterday I was able to walk and to watch the Harley Days, and listened to Abi Wallenstein.. Soon, I can work again, but in the cruising gear, pushing only softly the pedals, and in a few days, I´m back again...   Mel
