Moin Pirates,
4.409 running maniacs, made up their way at the 29th of january
2011, to run the small series with 5km each run or the large series
with 10km each run, at Germany´s biggest endurance three-part-series.
This running series is quite a good one, because it was booked
up within 3 weeks. So, registering late was not possible.
I registered myself early enough, so I waited on Saturday at 14:45o´clock
for the starting signal for the start of the large series ( 1st
run of 10km). Temperatures were about –1degrees, but felt like
–10degrees, but at least the sky was clear and full of sunshine.
This run was the first test for myself for the coming duathlon
and triathlon season. I was really glad about the fact, that I
was still able to run, because I felt like I was frozen to the
grounds when finally the starting signal came, I needed for the
first km about 4:08min.
Just to proof, that I´m a real Pirate, I ran with my short pants,
but all over the course I melted up again, and reached the finish
line with a time of 40:25min, first I was a little bit about the
time, because I wanted to reach at least a time of 39min, but
maybe a run, a cold run in january is too early for such a time.
Anyway, I finished on the 162nd place overall from 3184participants
and in my age-group ( 45-49) I took the 34th place of 627. The
next run is at the 26th of february, with the 2nd run over 15km.
I hope the temperatures will be a little bit warmer than, and
maybe I´ll finish more in front than this time.
On Sunday I used the wonderful cold weather for a roadbike trip,
it was the first time outside for me, because until Sunday I only
trained on the driven roller and in april I´ll participate at
the race “ around Cologne”.
