Moin Moin Piratas,

The weather forecast, told something about rain, but when the race was about to  begin, there was a bright sunny sky, like the sky in a movie, a typical ASV-weather…
Just kidding, the conditions were quite good, and so we started at 14:45o´clock for the “ Large-Series-Runner”, the 15km course. At this time we did not even thought about the rain beginning at 16:30 and forced all of us…home.

After I finished the first run of the series, a 10km run, a little bit frozen, you could nothing say about the weather today, we had temperarures of 8degrees, and the sun made it quite comfortable. So, the run became a bitter fight, just after the starting signal. After the start, I felt like a 800m runner, maybe because  Jan Fitschen started next to me( German and European Champion over the 10km distance), he finished the race with a time of 45:38min (unbelievable) 8-P !

As fast as Jan, I wasn´t able to start and started a little bit slower, sadly I remarked it, first at the 10km sign, ( 41min). Too slow, because I wanted t0 run a 59min time on the 15km distance. So, at the end It was a time of 1:01h. Damn it, I could have done faster….next time…

After all, I finished on the 130th place of 2800 participants and this was the 34th place in my age-group( 45-49). During the series, I moved forward on the 119th place and in my age-group on the 31st place. And with the last run, the half-marathon at the 26th of march, I want to end up under the Top100, if I not start like a turtle again, it may be possble. On the 13th of march, I´ll participate at the 10km run „ around the Bayer-cross), just to gain some more power for the half-marathon.

See you soon

Tom (of the TriTeam)
