I WON!

Last sunday, under sunny sky and wonderful weather conditions, I won at the 41st International Eschweiler public run, the race over the half-marathon distance. Yes, it still works…. After the 3rd place in Düren and the 2nd place in Wegberg in january over 10km, it was enough for the 1st place in Eschweiler, and I crossed the finish line after 1:27:24h at the womens-race, but, the course was only 20,4km long and not 21,1km… And with the baby-jogger, I only ran on max.15km during the preparations and only once. Added by 4 longer runs, without the baby-jogger and the usual normal shorter running distances with the baby-jogger, that´s all of the preparations for me. And because of my exercise deficit, I started the run without any expectations, I only wanted to finish the run, and maybe to stay under 1:30h, because it was my first half-marathon after two years. Right from the start I was in front, when I looked back, there wasn´t any women to see, so I just wanted to go on, with this constant up and down of the course and tried not to slow down, and saying it shorty…it worked…I WON. The guys, chiKKen and Capt´n Klotz rode to Eschweiler under this weather conditions and ran than the half-marathon. The temper was really goog, just from the start. They said, the course should have 440m of altitude, but it went really good for chiKKen. After a few hills in the forest and 1:27:14h, chiKKen reached the finish, first of the 3 Jülicher Pirates and finished 3rd in his age-group. You can see it in his face, his satisfaction. The last one, who reached the finsih was the Capt´n, a little bit sour, he hit the wall. Finally having said this, we also took the 3rd place of 30 in the mixed-team valuation.
