Gillrath

Last sunday I wanted to participate at the 33rd public run of Gillrath over the distance of 10km.When I drove there, we had fog at  home and when I got there, we got sunny blue sky. Must be the best weather conditions to run a 10km race. Another good fact of the run is, that the start was in the morning and not like the others all in the afternoon. At 10:35o´clock was the start. The course led over bitumen ways as well like gritty and slippery forest paths, which went slowly up and down. Luckily we had not that much wind, and when I took a look at my watch after 5km, I saw the time of 19:47min and was satisfied. But…I shouldn´t slow down to reach a time under 40min, and it worked, better than I thought. And now I checked my watch constantly after each km, just to be sure and save, that I got enough time left for the ascent right before the end of the run. So, Just passing a few more other runners and after 39:13min I passed the finish-line. Yeah…!!!

Special thanks at this point to Peter Borsdorff for the pictures and the wounderful moderation of the sport-event. He´s a very chameleonic moderator, photographer and charity fund raiser.
