Running Pirates within the limits

Without a passport or a dictionary, travelled the running Pirates of the Lausitz at the 15th of august to Hinterhermsdorf/Sebnitz to participate at the Czech.German borderline run, in line with the panorama tour of Saxony 2011. The beloved sport anchorman Adi( just do, do it, do it better) and the Flowergirls of Sebnitz sent us and the other 150 starters on the 15km long mountain tour. It was a constant change between up and down, right across roots, tree trunks, heavy terrain and more and the course claimed everything from everybody. So, because of the difficulty of the course and that sometimes the course was so steep, that you just could walk up the hill, but even under this conditions, the Running Pirates of the Lausitz showed what they´re made of. Steffen Gierth, was the first Pirate to cross the finish line with a time of 1:14:05h and ended up on the 37th place overall. Jörg Mikwauschk, Harald Skopi und Andreas Bieh(Team Erdinger Alkoholfrei) needed some more time to enjoy this run and crossed the finish line several minutes later and crossed together the finish line to get their finisher medal. Next weekend the Running Pirates will pull on their running shoes again, to participate at the 2nd night run of Dresden. Words+Pictures: I.Hellmann
