Moin Pirates,

since my second place at the indoor triathlon in Stralsund I exercised a lot, but first I moved to Berlin and began to enter the environment of the Teufelsberg. Here are some impressions of my exercise on the Fläming skate-course in the south of Berlin. The skate course of Fläming is a 100km long and flat bitumen course right thru the Fläming in Brandenburg. It is really wonderful to ride, right thru meadows, horses and a wondeful scenery, I would advise all of you to travel here and to ride it… In the middle of may, I participate with my Pirate-singl-speeder on the Tempelhof airporta race of the FXD-Nostra Racing League, a bunch of maniac Fixie and courier rider, and they got power in their legs, I gotta tell you… One round, 6km and 4 rivals, and only the best two, qualify themselves for the next round, and so,after two races I was in the final, there I only ended up on the 2nd place, because I only had a 44 chain in front and the winner got 52chain, after the race I rode with his bike, and this was my problem, two weeks later I also had a 52chain, and tested it on the course. Best time for myself, but without any rivals, so the next race can come… After it, training again in Berlin and on the Easter weekend I travelled to my family to Neuss. Robert and the other Pirates of Jülich I missed, because their were ölots to do on Easter, but don´t worry, the next ride will come for sure. The MTB-marathon in Willingen, with the new clothes of PIRATE and the new Rotwild testing center of Kerstin Brachtendorf in the Hotel Flora in Riva. I travelled there with two fast guys from Berlin and met Ron and the other Pirates there and visited the girls and guys of Rotwild. Relaxed a bit, ate some ice cream and saw lots of bikes.. I´m really looking forward for the end of the summer, when I´ll visit Daniéle in France, it was lots of fun to ride with her in Willingen. Already on the first round, I was 10minutes ahead of my target time and rode really fast into the second round. Sometimes I rode a little bit harder and sometimes a little bit slower, to take a closer look at the women´s race and like this I jumped from group to group. But as every year at the last mountain I was visited by the man with the hammer, who un-plugged me as well, so I was just able to crawl over the mountain and made my way with my last rest of power I nto to the finish. But I don´t care about it- the race went quite good, finally I reached the finish under 5h, with a time of 4:55h, and set a new “Benchmark” for Nils J I ended on the 52nd place overall,it´s a good placement for myself, I was almost 20min faster than last year, if it will go on like this…I´ll win this race in 2015 J The next event on my schedule is the marathon at the Erzgebirge and maybe I´ll exercise in between with Thomas Nicke at the borderline, just to get know the trails in Poland… Chain mostright!
