Traditionally,
the „ Running PIRATES of the Lausitz“ started together with 115
further runners and walkers on the 2nd of january 2011 in the
new active year of 2011. The starting signal was point 10:30AM,
by the mayor, for the 32nd Hoyerswerdaer New Years run. The running
course were icy and because of that, the course was shorten from
a 2km round-course to a 1km round course. The offered 2 different
distances, a 2km run with 2 rounds and a 6km run with 6rounds
to solve.
To underline his New Year resolutions, Michael Bud (39) wanted
to show and prove the others, what he´s made of. He said, that
he just arrived at age, where he should start to do something
for his shape and form. He was accompanied by 4 other PIRATES
on his first running event, and he did quite a good job and for
the future, he wants to increase his amount of running kilometers
and to participate constantly at running events.
Just a few moments before the start, a good friend of us, Lars
Bauer (30, from Bautzen) decided himself to participate as well,
with the “ abandoned”, and with 6 PIRATES between 14 and 47, The
“ running PIRATES of the Lausitz” were a large team there.
