Road race, mandatory break and than, the  Cyclassics

After my 200km race inCottbus last june, I took myself a break. Than I started to race some round course races and some other races, to get back in shape again. At this point, I should mention, the race in Braunschweig, where we rode a 33km race on a 1kmk long round course and rode an average speed of 43km/h. Welll, everything is allright.

But than, I got a flu and suffered for three weeks with it and because of it, I had to cancel a lot of races and so my mood was on low-level. What´s the best thing to fight these mood? I went to the barber and when I got there I met friend and ask me,if I wanted to start at the Cyclassics, the short one, 57km but from the A-block. I said YES, I´ll, and back at home, I thought...SHIT...A-block, with all the maniacs...

Well, and because of this, I stood at the starting line, at 7:oo 0´clock on a Sunday morning, and my confidence of my shape after the long break, wasn´t the best, but with my know-how and some routime,I would make it.And so, things began, all around me, the others crashed and fell of their bikes, but I, had the right position in the field and with an average speed of 43:7km/h we went towards Köster and the ” I don´t know”hill, the sting. My legs felt quite good, and so I was able to ride the mountain from the front, and soon from the 1000 starters from the A and B-block, were just 75 riders left. On the last 5km, the field began to strategize, but one was able to get off the field, and also won the race. Sadly, only 500m before the finish, two guys ahead of me, almost crashed and I had to hit the brake really hard, so, I ended on the 71th place, just 13 seconds behind the 2nd.
