10 Km in Obermaubach

Saturday evening in the Eiffel…Not my beloved time for having a contest…And the word Eiffel meant a lot… Together with Heike, the dragon lady of DJK Herzogenrath, I traveeled here with the slogan FULL THROTTLE and ATTACK. And because of the fact, that Heike ask med beofre the race if I would make the pace for her on the 10km, it was like a Pirate honor for me to attend her, and it is like a speed exercise unit. But, we never ran in Obermaubach, and so we didn´t know, what it is up to, but shortly after the start we knew it, uphill for 4,5km and than down again into the valley. When we reached the hill, I knew that it would be a really good race for the dragon lady, she was the leading woman, and now just bring it to the end, but in between on the way down, the woman in 2nd place tried to catch us, so I had to push it a little bit more to re-grow the gap again and it worked. When we reached the foot of the mountain, their was no sight of her anymore. On the home straight we had to fight a little bit more, because there was a small hill left which was 500m long, which we also used afterwards to loosen up our legs again.;-))) Heike ended up on the first place overall and of course in her age-group with a time of 44:02min and myself endedn up on the 2nd place in my age-group with a time of 44:04min.   ATTACK and FULL THROTTLE chiKKen…!!!
