Victory and New Course Record at the 9th Montelino!

At the 27th of august I went for the 10th Mountain run up to the  Sophienhöhe“.  The small Montelino over 8,6km took part for the 9th time and the big one, the great Monte Sophia over the 28,1km distance for the 10th time. For myself was it the 6th time to run the small Montelino, the former course of 9,2km ws changed in the year of 2008 on 8,6km. On the former course I got the course record made up in 2005. Well, this year I started on the 8,6km course with 80m of altitude. While we stand at the start, dark clouda came up, but they passed us, luckily, so we could run dry… I ran the first km´s quite easy and relaxed, but than I increased my speed until the end. After 4km in the run was the last steep ascent of the run, when I reached the peak, I saw my competitors only 10m behind me. So, don´t loose my speed, I thought to myself. But the wind helped me for a fast way back to the finish. Well, with a time of 33:49minutes I crossed the finish line, 45seconds ahead of th 2nd, this was the victory and I set a new course record at the womens race. Even at the men´s race they had a new course record, for the first time under 30minutes. Svennie
