Despite the fact of the cool temperatures, the weather god was merciful with all the 1500participants of the 9th city triathlon at the olympic parc of Munich. Before and after the race it rained a lot, but in between, the triathletes from 24 nation, showed what they´re made off. At the pro´s race of the sprinting distance over 425swim, 19km bike and 5km run, Michael Ager of the Sg Katek Grassau won at the men and at the women´s race won Heike Preiss of the WSV Bad Tölz.
One Special thing of the Munich sprinting distance is, that it is chase-race
while every athlete start with a gap of 8seconds in the 24,5degrees warm old olympic pool.
Taking a header is not my favorite, but before all the viewers, you don´t wanna embarrass yourself!
Than you gonna count lanes, but the turnaround under the cord is not easy for someone, who aren´t able to do a Flipturn and also I got some problems with the high board of the olympic pool becaus of my broken finger( happened in january, whilw I was skating).
But at the end of the swimming, everything is forgotten about it, because now my strongest disciplines are about to begin,
Cycling and running, that I´m able to reach a good positions.
So,as fast as possible out of the swimming pool,
crossing the transition area and on the bike course.
The bike course runs directly thru the olympic parc, and is very technical and ambitious.
Maybe I was to concentrated, because after the first of 5 rounds I rode towards the hoem strait of the bike course-luckily I remarked it very soon, and were able to get back on the course.
Even of the large amount of curves, narrow streets and of my riding mistake, I was able to get an average speed of 40km/h.
Than I gotta change my bike to my running shoes.
Directly on the sprining distance is the most important thing, to find really fast you own running style.
This is not easy on a running course, which constantly went up and down.
Today, I left the shoulder work on the side...
Finally the finish line: 6.
